Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Bigua (#1) and Penarol (#5). Bigua (18-6) won against visiting Penarol (14-10) 91-84. Bigua looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 assists for the winners. Brazilian center Luis Santos (194-1994) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Bigua's coach Diego Cal used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Lee Roberts (203-1987, college: Findlay, OH) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import power forward Charles Thomas (202-1986, college: Arkansas) added 23 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first place with 18-6 record. Loser Penarol dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Hebraica.
