Very expected game when 12th ranked Quilmes MP (10-15) was smashed by second ranked Zarate Basket (21-7) in Mar del Plata 88-61 on Friday. Zarate Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Quilmes MP's 32. They outrebounded Quilmes MP 44-29 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Agustin Brocal (191-1997) notched 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Ignacio Cuassolo (200-1999) supported him with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Even 17 points by guard Genaro Calcaterra (190-2001) did not help to save the game for Quilmes MP. Geronimo Sala added 17 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zarate Basket have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-7 record having just two points less than leader Racing. Loser Quilmes MP dropped to the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with CAO Ceres and Montmartre.
