Regular Season Round 32: Independ.O. - San Martin 87-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 11th ranked San Martin (13-11) lost to twelfth ranked Independ.O. (14-12) in Olivia 80-87 on Saturday. The winners were led by Salvador Giletto (195-1993) who scored that evening 18 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and swingman Joaquin Noblega (194-1997) supported him with 12 points and 5 assists. Independ.O.'s coach Martin Gonzalez used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by swingman Emiliano Basabe (195-1992) did not help to save the game for San Martin. Point guard Santiago Ferreyra (188-1997) added 12 points for the guests. Four San Martin players scored in double figures. Independ.O. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Loser San Martin dropped to the twelfth position with 11 games lost. Independ.O. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Martin will play against Union SF (#19) in Santa Fe and hope to secure a win.
