There was no surprise in Sao Paulo where 11th ranked Caxias do Sul (10-15) was crushed by fifth ranked Paulistano (17-9) 83-58 on Monday. Paulistano outrebounded Caxias do Sul 49-21 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Gui Abreu (199-1999) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Anderson Barbosa (192-2000) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. Naturalized French Pedro Mendonca (196-1995) responded with 6 points and 4 assists and Argentinian point guard Stefano Pierotti (185-1998) scored 9 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Paulistano have a solid three-game winning streak.
