A very close game took place in Tepic between Mexcaltecas and Lenadoras. Mexcaltecas (1-5) got a very close home victory over Lenadoras (1-5). Mexcaltecas managed to escape with a 2-point win 65-63 in the game for the sixth place. Mexcaltecas had a 24-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Paola Beltran (164-1994) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Erika Gonzalez accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Nayeli Ortiz (174-1998) came up with 22 points and American guard Megan Garcia (173) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Lenadoras in the defeat. Four Lenadoras players scored in double figures. Mexcaltecas will meet Quetzales (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lenadoras will play against Racers in Saltillo and hope to win that game.
