Regular Season Round 40: Montmartre - Independiente 83-81

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Montmartre (11-16) edged at home higher ranked Independiente (16-12) 83-81 on Saturday. Strangely Independiente outrebounded Montmartre 33-21 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Francisco Conrradi (191-2003) who helped to win the game recording 21 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and American swingman Kevin Ellis (193-1998) who added 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Montmartre players scored in double figures. Montmartre's coach Gabriel Albornoz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Tomas Allende (190-2002) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and forward Lucio Castellani (196-1994) scored 23 points. Montmartre moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Independiente dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. They share it with H.Americano. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
