Regular Season Round 35: Platense - Obera 80-78

The most exciting game of round 35 in the La Liga took place in Florida. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Obera (20-10) to eighth ranked Platense (18-11) 80-78 on Monday evening. Uruguayan-Italian swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-1999) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. American power forward DeMarco Owens (203-1996, college: Montevallo) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Owens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-1990) answered with 26 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and swingman Jonatan Torresi (190-1994) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Obera. Platense have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Obera at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
