There was a minor upset in Chaco where 13th ranked CAO Ceres (10-19) was defeated by sixteenth ranked Sarmiento R. (7-22) 74-65 on Monday. Sarmiento R. outrebounded CAO Ceres 48-37 including 35 on the defensive glass. Guard Marcelo Martinez (187-1996) fired 17 points for the winners. Point guard Alejo Traverso (179-1998) chipped in 17 points. Pablo Martinez (197-1982) produced 17 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Facundo Gago (178-1996) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Four CAO Ceres players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sarmiento R.. Newly promoted Sarmiento R. maintains sixteenth place with 7-22 record. CAO Ceres lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Jachal. Sarmiento R. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. CAO Ceres will play against Villa S.Martin (#7) in Resistencia and hope to secure a win.
