Undefeated Santiago (4-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Monday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Leona (3-2) 66-62. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Santiago. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was American guard Kiana Glenn (168-1997, college: Life) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. Odalmis Diaz chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Glenn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Leona's coach Brandon Hill used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Ashley Hagans (170) produced 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Maria Coronado (173-1991) added 9 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Leona moved-up to second place. Santiago at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Leona will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Santiago will play against Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
