Regular Season Round 2: Cangrejeros - Gladiadores 71-103

Another exciting game was played in Maturin between Gladiadores and Cangrejeros where Gladiadores crushed Cangrejeros on the road with 32-point difference 103-71. Gladiadores shot 64.4 percent from the field. Gladiadores outrebounded Cangrejeros 41-22 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 61.5 percentage. International point guard Gregory Vargas (181-1986, agency: Pro Sports) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. American Jordan Adams (196-1994, college: UCLA) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Five Gladiadores players scored in double figures. Dominican swingman Luis Feliz (190-2002) replied with 24 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and Dominican forward Rich Polanco (203-1997, college: S.Dakota) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Cangrejeros. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiadores will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cangrejeros will play on the road against Piratas in La Guaira and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
