Regular Season Round 17: Catolica - Puente Alto 62-79

Very expected game in Santiago where 11th ranked Catolica (5-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Puente Alto (10-6) 79-62 on Friday. The best player for the winners was American forward Marquez Letcher-Ellis (203-1997, college: Nevada) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Center Joaquin Pino (-2000) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. American forward TJ Robinson (203-1989, college: LBSU) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import point guard Manny Payton (183-1997, college: FSU) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Puente Alto have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Catolica keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Puente Alto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Catolica will play against Quilicura (#7) and hope to secure a win.
