Regular Season Round 45: Quilmes MP - Racing 73-77

La Liga Argentina top team - Racing (25-5) added another victory to their record. This time they beat twelfth ranked Quilmes MP (13-17) in Mar del Plata 77-73. Racing players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Point guard Taiel Gomez (185-1999) stepped up and scored 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and Ricardo Fernandez (190-1996) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international point guard Luis Cequeira (179-1985) with 17 points and 5 assists and forward Tomas Nally (202-2002, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Quilmes MP's coach Luis Fernandez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Racing maintains first place with 25-5 record, which they share with Ameghino. Quilmes MP at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. They share it with GELP and Montmartre. Racing will play against GELP (#12) in La Plata in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Quilmes MP will play on the road against Villa Mitre in Bahia Blanca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
