Regular Season Round 2: Leones - La Paz 96-58

There was a minor upset in Potosi where La Paz was rolled over by Leones 96-58 on Saturday. Leones dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to La Paz's 26. Leones forced 22 La Paz turnovers and outrebounded them 55-35 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 1 passes made by La Paz's players. The best player for the winners was American swingman Spencer Collins (196-1993, college: Wofford) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Lazaro Chappottin (200-2000) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Five Leones players scored in double figures. American guard Irin Stark (185-1989, college: STAC) produced 29 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jorge Beltran (196-1988) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. La Paz will play against Atletico Nacional and hope to win that game.
