Leones (1-1) recorded a loss in Mayaguez. Visitors were edged by Indios (1-1) 86-84. Leones were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American point guard Tyreke Evans (198-1989, college: Memphis) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points. His fellow American import power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Jezreel De Jesus (185-1991, agency: Interperformances) with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Eric Paschall (198-1996, college: Villanova) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Indios will play against Capitanes (#5) in Arecibo in the next round. Leones will play on the road against Piratas in Quebradillas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
