An interesting game for Santa Tecla 2 (9-0) which hosted in Santa Tecla 3rd ranked Salvadorenas 2 (5-5). Top-ranked Santa Tecla 2 had an easy win 75-54. Santa Tecla 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Salvadorenas 2's 16. Santa Tecla 2 forced 22 Salvadorenas 2 turnovers. Strangely Salvadorenas 2 outrebounded Santa Tecla 2 44-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Cuban point guard Arlenys Romero (176-1984) scored 30 points, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) chipped in 15 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks during the contest. At the losing side center Silvia Vega (176-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Fatima Aviles (161-1999) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Salvadorenas 2's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Santa Tecla 2 have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-0 record. Salvadorenas 2 at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost.
