No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Puerto Varas (9-9) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Temuco (1-17) 100-59 on Sunday. Puerto Varas dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Temuco's 24. They outrebounded Temuco 57-37 including a 43-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Cameron Naylor (202-1994, college: Texas St.) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Juan Fontena (196-1987) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Naylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Uruguayan point guard Martin Perdomo (178-1995) with 25 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Brazilian power forward Diego Dias Silva (207-1990) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Puerto Varas maintains tenth position with 9-9 record. Temuco lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 17 lost games. Puerto Varas will meet at home Tinguiririca (#14) in the next round.
