The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Gimnasia's (23-10) home victory over 5th ranked Obras (20-12) 80-64 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was American center Gerard DeVaughn (205-1988, college: Stillman) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. The former international Ivan Gramajo (193-1996) chipped in 16 points. DeVaughn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Gimnasia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Uruguayan forward Emiliano Serres (205-1997, agency: Pro Sports) who recorded 11 points and Uruguayan forward Joaquin Rodriguez (198-1999, agency: Pro Sports) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gimnasia moved-up to third place. Obras lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
