The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Rayos de Hermosillo as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Rayos de Hermosillo defeated 5th ranked Tijuana Zonkeys at home 96-85. They outrebounded Tijuana Zonkeys 45-32 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rayos de Hermosillo looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists.
