Regular Season Round 5: Diablos - Cocodrilos 74-79

Everything went according to plan when leader Cocodrilos (5-0) defeated 4th placed Diablos (1-4) in Caracas 79-74 on Tuesday. Cocodrilos made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Diablos' players. Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) nailed 16 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side and forward Jovanni Diaz (203-1990) accounted for 13 points. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. Dominican point guard Raimer Santana (183-1997) came up with 24 points and the former international Elian Centeno (200-2000) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Diablos in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Cocodrilos have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record, which they share with Piratas. Loser Diablos dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with 5 other teams.
