Regular Season Round 29: Cerrado - Rio Claro 109-84
Date: March 28, 2023
Bottom-ranked Cerrado managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of ten consecutive losses on Tuesday night. This time they outleveled sixteenth-ranked Rio Claro in Brasilia 109-84. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 25-point difference proves that Cerrado was well-prepared to that game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Daniel Von Haydin (194-1999) stepped up and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and power forward Ruan Miranda (205-2001) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Lucas Lacerda (180-1997) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Rafa Oliveira (199-1993) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cerrado maintains seventeenth place with 5-23 record. Rio Claro lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 23 games lost. Cerrado will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rio Claro will play against Brasilia (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
