No shocking result in a game in La Banda where seventh ranked Olimpico (21-13) defeated 17th ranked Comunicaciones (9-24) 106-98 on Wednesday. Olimpico dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Comunicaciones' 44. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Patricio Tabarez (195-1991) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international center Roberto Acuna (208-1990) who added 25 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Olimpico's coach Leonardo Gutierrez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Germain Jordan (198-1986, college: Dillard) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Melvin Johnson (193-1993, college: VCU) scored 21 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Olimpico moved-up to sixth place. Comunicaciones lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 24 games lost. Olimpico will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Comunicaciones will play against San Martin (#11) and hope to secure a win.
