There was no surprise in Santiado del Estero where 11th ranked Independ.O. (16-17) was crushed by second ranked Quimsa (23-10) 114-88 on Wednesday. Quimsa outrebounded Independ.O. 36-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 64.3 percentage. Quimsa looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Sebastian Acevedo (200-1990) who helped to win the game recording 19 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) and forward Rodrigo Sanchez (200-1989) who added 15 points during the contest. At the losing side Venezuelan guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Martin Cabrera (179-1996) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Five Quimsa and four Independ.O. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quimsa have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Quimsa went down to third position due to points difference. Independ.O. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Riachuelo LR. Quimsa will meet Ferro (#15) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Independ.O. will have a break next round.
