The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Santiagueno's (2-4) home loss to fifth ranked Quezaltepeque (4-4) 66-115 on Thursday. Quezaltepeque forced 23 Santiagueno turnovers and outrebounded them 52-38 including a 36-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santiagueno's coach Erivan Amaya gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Quezaltepeque moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cojute. Loser Santiagueno dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Brujos. Quezaltepeque will meet Santa Ana (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Santiagueno will play against Chalchuapa and hope to secure a win.
