Regular Season Round 6: Spartans - Gladiadores 64-80

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Caracas: Gladiadores (#2) and Spartans (#5). Spartans were smashed at home by 16 points 64-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Anthony Perez (206-1993, college: Ole Miss) who scored 18 points. American swingman David Nickelberry (201-1998, college: Buffalo) chipped in 18 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Nelson Palacios (192-1992) who recorded 11 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Will Davis II (203-1992, college: UC Irvine) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gladiadores maintains second position with 4-1 record having just three points less than leader Brillantes. Loser Spartans still closes the standings with five games lost. Gladiadores' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Cocodrilos.
