Regular Season Round 18: Concepcion - Valdivia 91-72

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Valdivia (10-8) was crushed on the road by top-ranked Concepcion (17-0) 91-72 on Friday. American forward Miles Bowman Jr (198-1993, college: High Point) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Venezuelan Carlos Milano (198) chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Concepcion players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Roquez Johnson (201-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and Argentinian point guard Nicolas Ferreyra (181-1985) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Concepcion have an impressive 17-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 17-0 record. Loser Valdivia dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Las Animas. Concepcion will meet Espanol T. (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Valdivia will have a break next round.
