Regular Season Round 40: Platense - Ferro 84-80
Date: March 31, 2023
Very predictable result in Florida where eighth ranked Platense (19-12) beat 15th ranked Ferro (14-19) 84-80 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward DeMarco Owens (203-1996, college: Montevallo) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds and Uruguayan-Italian swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-1999) who added 18 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Owens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side swingman Valentin Bettiga (189-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Lucas Gargallo (196-1995) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ferro players scored in double figures. Ferro's coach Federico Fernandez tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Platense maintains eighth position with 19-12 record. Ferro at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with 19 games lost. Platense will meet at home higher ranked Obras (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ferro will play against Quimsa (#3) and hope to secure a win.
