There was a minor upset in Caracas where their close opponent Llaneros (1-5) were defeated by fourth ranked Gaiteros (4-3) 82-69 on Friday. The best player for the winners was American guard Nathan Priddy (188-1999, college: Elon) who scored 25 points. American-Ugandan center Brandon Sebirumbi (205-1990, college: Furman) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Four Gaiteros players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Dominican point guard Yerri Flores (188-1996, college: High School) who recorded 24 points and 5 assists and forward Cristian Centeno (195-1996) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gaiteros moved-up to third place. Llaneros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Gaiteros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Llaneros' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Broncos.
