Regular Season Round 6: San German - Manati 82-76

Rather predictable result in San German where second ranked Atleticos (4-1) defeated bottom-ranked Osos (0-5) 82-76 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Atleticos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (202-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Norris Cole (188-1988, college: CSU) chipped in 18 points and 7 assists. Atleticos' coach Manuel Cintron used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Davon Jefferson (203-1986, college: USC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international Christopher Ortiz (203-1993, college: Kent St.) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atleticos have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 4-1 record behind leader Quebradillas. Loser Osos still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Humacao. Atleticos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Osos will play against Leones (#5) and hope to get finally their first victory.
