Very significant was Santa Tecla 2's (#1, 10-0) victory against second-ranked San Salvador (6-4) 85-61. Santa Tecla 2 forced 19 San Salvador turnovers and outrebounded them 47-31 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-1984) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 21 rebounds. Adriana Rivas (175-1996) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Santa Tecla 2's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American Emily Tevez (175-1993, college: NDN) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Monica Calderon (175-1991) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for San Salvador in the defeat. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. Santa Tecla 2 (10-0) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. San Salvador at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. Santa Tecla 2 will play against bottom-ranked Santa Ana 2 (#5) in the next round. San Salvador will play against Salvadorenas 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
