Regular Season Round 7: Cangrejeros - Gigantes 71-84

Rather expected game in Maturin where 5th ranked Cangrejeros (1-6) were defeated by third ranked Gigantes (3-4) 84-71 on Saturday. It was a great evening for American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-1989, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. The former international Jose Bracho (190-1998) helped adding 13 points. At the losing side Dominican swingman Luis Feliz (190-2002) responded with 19 points and Dominican forward Rich Polanco (203-1997, college: S.Dakota) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gigantes maintains third place with 3-4 record having just two points less than leader Piratas, which they share with Heroes and Centauros. Cangrejeros lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Llaneros. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
