Regular Season Round 19: Puente Alto - Castro 84-68

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Puente Alto (14-6) beat at home 9th ranked Castro (10-9) 84-68 on Saturday. They outrebounded Castro 48-34 including a 38-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Marquez Letcher-Ellis (203-1997, college: Nevada) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Dennis McKinney (193-1998, college: Mt.Mercy, agency: GoEmpire Group) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Venezuelan Luis Merida (190) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Ecuadorian center Bryan Carabali (212-1999) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Castro in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Puente Alto have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 14-6 record. Loser Castro dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Puente Alto will meet Espanol T. (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Castro will play against the league's leader Concepcion (#1) and hope to secure a win.
