Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Espanol O. (11-11) lost at home to second ranked Los Leones (16-3) 71-63 on Saturday. Los Leones outrebounded Espanol O. 50-36 including 38 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Markus Kennedy (206-1991, college: SMU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import Tyrone Lee (203-1990, college: GVSU) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American forward DeAndre Daniels (206-1992, college: UConn, agency: BIG) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and Argentinian point guard Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-1995) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Espanol O. in the defeat. Los Leones maintains second place with 16-3 record having just three points less than leader Concepcion. Loser Espanol O. dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Los Leones will meet at home Puerto Varas (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Espanol O. will play against Valdivia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
