Regular Season Round 6: Quetzales - Mieleras 68-84

An interesting game for Mieleras (8-2) which played road game in Ciudad de Mexico against 4th ranked Quetzales (4-6). Second ranked Mieleras had an easy win 84-68. American forward Destiny Campbell (185, college: ECU) notched 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international Brisa Silva (170-1984, college: OK State, agency: ROCKIN SPORTS) supported her with 17 points and 5 assists. Four Mieleras players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) by Cuban center Clenia Noblet (190-1987) did not help to save the game for Quetzales. American point guard Aniese Palmore (165-1994, college: UMW) added 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Mieleras have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 8-2 record having six points less than leader Teporacas. Quetzales lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with six games lost. Mieleras will meet at home Racers (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Quetzales will play against Lenadoras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
