We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Tepic where 5th ranked Lobas (3-9) were defeated by sixth ranked Mexcaltecas (3-9) 84-79 on Tuesday. Mexcaltecas shot 24 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Lobas only scored six points from the stripe. The former international point guard Paola Beltran (164-1994) fired 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds for the winners. Canadian guard Arianna Macias (175, college: St.Mary's) chipped in 21 points. American-Bahrain power forward Brittany Lewis (188-1989, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and Colombian Laura Garrido (172) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Lobas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Mexcaltecas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lenadoras and Lobas.
