Rather predictable result when first ranked Brillantes (6-2) rolled over 5th ranked Toros (1-7) in Caracas 84-64 on Tuesday. Brillantes forced 22 Toros turnovers. Strangely Toros outrebounded Brillantes 46-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Toros' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brillantes made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American guard James Reese V (193-1998, college: S.Carolina) who scored that evening 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Glen Rice Jr (198-1991, college: Georgia Tech) supported him with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 10 points and 7 rebounds by point guard Jose Vargas (182-2002) did not help to save the game for Toros. Dominican Braynt De La Cruz (195) added 10 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Brillantes maintains first position with 6-2 record, which they share with Cocodrilos and Broncos. Toros lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
