Regular Season Round 9: Diablos - Piratas 73-83

Rather predictable result in Caracas where leader Piratas (7-0) defeated 4th placed Diablos (1-6) 83-73 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Dominican guard Juan Suero (196-1993) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Dominican point guard Miguel Dicent (190-1994, college: Morehead St.) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Jose Manaure (193-1987) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Abrouse Acosta (180-1992) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Diablos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Piratas have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-0 record. Diablos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Spartans. Piratas will meet at home league's second-placed Cocodrilos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Diablos will have a break next round.
