Date: April 6, 2023
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Valdivia: Las Animas (#5) and Valdivia (#8). Valdivia was defeated at home 87-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Las Animas shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Argentinian guard Christian Schoppler (185-1986) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 9 assists. American forward Shawn Glover (201-1990, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Las Animas players scored in double figures. American center Roquez Johnson (201-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) replied with 25 points and 9 rebounds and Argentinian point guard Nicolas Ferreyra (181-1985) added 26 points in the effort for Valdivia. Valdivia's coach Gabriel Schamberger let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Las Animas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 13-8 record. Valdivia at the other side dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
