Regular Season Round 10: Heroes - Brillantes 75-70
Date: April 8, 2023
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas: Heroes (#4) and Brillantes (#2). Heroes (6-4) won against visiting Brillantes (6-4) 75-70. Heroes brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Dominican point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the effort and British center Kavell Bigby-Williams (211-1995, college: LSU) supported him with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds by American Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St.) did not help to save the game for Brillantes. His fellow American import forward Glen Rice Jr (198-1991, college: Georgia Tech) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Heroes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Brillantes. Heroes' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas Brillantes.
