The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Llaneros' (3-7) home loss to third ranked Taurinos (3-7) 97-102 on Saturday. Taurinos forced 19 Llaneros turnovers. American guard Dazon Ingram (196-1997, college: UCF) fired 21 points and 8 assists for the winners. The other American import JD Weatherspoon (198-1992, college: Toledo) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Ingram is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Taurinos players scored in double figures. Argentinian guard Julian Ruiz (185-1998) produced 28 points and 6 assists and American forward Lance Thomas (206-1999, college: USA, agency: Haylett Sports) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Llaneros' coach Oscar Silva rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Taurinos maintains third position with 3-7 record having three points less than leader Piratas, which they share with defeated Llaneros. Taurinos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Llaneros will play against Toros in Maracay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
