The game between 13th ranked Espanol T. (4-13) and tenth ranked Quilicura (10-9) in Talca on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Quilicura outscored Espanol T. 127-52. Quilicura dominated down low during the game scoring 98 of its points in the paint compared to Espanol T.'s 24 and made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Quilicura forced 25 Espanol T. turnovers and outrebounded them 57-26 including a 43-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Espanol T.'s players. American forward Chris Perry (203-1994, college: LMU) nailed a double-double by scoring 51 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds (on 21-of-27 shooting from the field) for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Shannon Fowler (203, college: UWG) accounted for 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Quilicura players scored in double figures. Forward Jaime Avendano (-1999) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Davon Haynes (203-1991, college: UAPB) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Espanol T. in the defeat. Espanol T.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Quilicura moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Castro. Espanol T. lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. Quilicura will meet at home higher ranked Valdivia (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Espanol T. will play against Las Animas (#5) in Valdivia and hope to secure a win.
