Regular Season Round 15: Chalchuapa - Cojute 67-99

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Chalchuapa (1-10) was crushed at home by third ranked Cojute (8-4) 99-67. Cojute dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Chalchuapa's 46. They outrebounded Chalchuapa 63-33 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Cojute players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Chalchuapa's players. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for guard Jeremy Agosto (177-1997, agency: The French Family Consulting) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Troidell Carter (206-1991, college: Slippery Rock) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 23 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Cojute's coach Jose Rivas felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gorg Alhag (190-1997, college: Mayville St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Robert Story (183, college: WSSU) added 18 points in the effort for Chalchuapa. Cojute have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 8-4 record having just one point less than leader Santa Tecla. Chalchuapa at the other side stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Cojute will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chalchuapa will play on the road against Metapan (#4) to get more than just one victory in their record.
