Regular Season Round 10: Guaynabo - Fajardo 98-99

There was no surprise in Guaynabo where 6th ranked Mets (1-8) were edged by third ranked Cariduros (4-5) 99-98 on Monday. Cariduros made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cariduros made 8 blocks. American center Elijah Holman (208-1989, college: Detroit) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Emmanuel Andujar (197-1993, college: Manhattan) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Jaysean Paige (188-1994, college: WVU) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and guard Jermaine Miranda (190-2001, college: CBU) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Five Mets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Cariduros maintains third position with 4-5 record having just three points less than leader Quebradillas. Mets lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Cariduros will meet at home Capitanes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Mets will play against Cangrejeros and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
