Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Penarol (19-16) defeated 19th ranked Union SF (7-28) in Mar del Plata 95-86. Penarol made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Union SF was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Bruno Sansimoni (194-1996) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Jose Defelippo (186-1997) who added 14 points and 8 assists during the contest. Haitian forward Jeantal Cylla (201-1996, college: Arkansas) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Cuban center Pedro Bombino (206-2000, agency: Pro Sports) scored 13 points.
