Very expected game when 8th ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (5-13) was defeated on the road by first ranked Rayos de Hermosillo (14-4) 86-78 on Tuesday. Rayos de Hermosillo looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was guard Jimond Ivey (196-1996, college: Akron) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Nojel Eastern (198-1999, college: Howard) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Rayos de Hermosillo's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Tony Farmer (201-1994, college: Lee JC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard Jimmy Whitt (190-1997, college: Arkansas, agency: Interperformances) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Rayos de Hermosillo and four Halcones de Ciudad Obregon players scored in double figures. Rayos de Hermosillo have an impressive series of five victories in a row.
