There was a small surprise in Caracas where second ranked Cocodrilos (7-3) defeated their close opponent Guaiqueries (6-5) 72-62 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Guaiqueries 46-35 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard New Williams (185-1996, college: Fresno St.) chipped in 17 points. Cocodrilos' coach Gonzalo Garcia used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Gendry Correa (190-1996) who recorded 20 points and American forward Tre McLean (197-1993, college: Chattanooga) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Cocodrilos keep a position of league leader, which they share with Guaros. Loser Guaiqueries keep the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Panteras. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
