Seventeenth-ranked Argentino (10-26) was very close to win a game against sixth ranked Riachuelo LR (22-14) in La Rioja. Riachuelo LR managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Riachuelo LR outrebounded Argentino 38-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. Guard Mateo Corso (185-2003) scored 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Fabricio Diaz chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Riachuelo LR's coach Pablo Rodrigo Pereyro allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Augusto Gennero (188-2003) responded with 28 points (was perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line !!!) and Franco Capelli scored 24 points and 5 rebounds. Riachuelo LR maintains sixth position with 22-14 record. Argentino at the other side keeps the seventeenth place with 26 games lost. Riachuelo LR will again play against Argentino (#17) in Junin in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Argentino will have a break next round.
