Thirteenth-ranked Independ.O. (17-19) was very close to win a game against eighth ranked Regatas (21-15) in Corrientes on Wednesday. Regatas managed to secure only one-point victory 78-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Strangely Independ.O. outrebounded Regatas 41-0 including a 11- advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Andres Jaime (184-2000) saved the victory by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Juan Arengo (185-1996) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Venezuelan guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) replied with 10 points and 8 rebounds and guard Agustin Pautasso (192-1997) added 16 points in the effort for Independ.O.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Regatas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain eighth position with 21-15 record. Newly promoted Independ.O. keeps the thirteenth place with 19 games lost. They share the position with San Martin. Regatas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Independ.O. will play on the road against San Martin (#14) in Corrientes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
