The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Caballeros de Culiacan's (11-7) road victory over 4th placed Venados (8-10) 119-97 on Wednesday. Caballeros de Culiacan dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Venados' 34. The best player for the winners was Colombian Michaell Jackson (190-1987) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. American guard Teyvion Kirk (193-1999, college: UIC) chipped in 24 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Vincent Boumann (206-1996, college: WOU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import power forward Alex Kaye Williams (203-1993) added 21 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Caballeros de Culiacan maintains third place with 11-7 record having just three points less than leader Hermosillo. Loser Venados keep the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Guaymas. Caballeros de Culiacan will meet at home Ostioneros de Guaymas (#4) in the next round.
