Regular Season Round 13: Taurinos - Gaiteros 73-84

There was a minor upset in La Asuncion where their close opponent Taurinos (4-9) were defeated by fourth ranked Gaiteros (6-5) 84-73 on Wednesday. British Robert Gilchrist (206-1990, college: FSU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Ty Lawson (180-1987, college: UNC) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the losing side American JD Weatherspoon (198-1992, college: Toledo) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import guard Dazon Ingram (196-1997, college: UCF) scored 11 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Taurinos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gaiteros moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Taurinos lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with nine games lost. Gaiteros will meet league's leader Broncos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taurinos will have a break next round.
