No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (9-11) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (5-15) 105-95 on Friday. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward Anthony Young (200-1989, college: KWC) scored 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Joshua Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) chipped in 25 points and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Tijuana Zonkeys players scored in double figures. Tijuana Zonkeys' coach Henry Bibby used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Robert Colon (187-1999, college: WSSU) responded with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Jimmy Whitt (190-1997, college: Arkansas, agency: Interperformances) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Tijuana Zonkeys have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Mazatlan and Guaymas. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Tijuana Zonkeys will meet Venados (#6) in the next round. Halcones de Ciudad Obregon will play against Ostioneros de Guaymas and hope to secure a win.
